Kamau's Business Blog Page - The World's 1st Black and Minority Business Blog!
Time is Almost up for this Hampton Scholarship!
I wanted to get the urgent message out about the potential loss of some Hampton Scholarships. I am using the Blog because this is a time critical issue.
If you know someone that wants to go to Hampton and needs assistance, please forward the information below. It would be a shame to lose any scholarship because of lack of participation.
Please help get the word out to current Hampton students that ESPN is considering taking back two $10,000.00 scholarships, because of a lack of applicants. They only got back two applications.
If anyone knows of a deserving student, please have them contact renee.antoine@espn.com
I hope this helps
God Bless,
Kamau

Since I am pretty busy with web design and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) work, I will not be able to post this Grant on the Grant page for a few days. However, small minority businesses with a business plan should apply for the Miller's Urban Entrepreneur Grant. You can get more information about the Grant here:
http://www.blackenterprise.com/ExclusivesekOpen.asp?id=393 . Take it away folks.
The Black Enterprise web site also has good info on other types of Financing sources like tapping into the Black Angel networks. Angels are private financers that fund developing businesses more from a mentor perspective. They do not require the same criteria as banks and venture capitalists who usually are sources of second round financing (especially since they don't finance start-ups in most cases). That's all for tonight folks, until next time Keep it Real.

First I want to offer a Prayer to the family and loved ones of James Davis, the New York City Councilmen senselessly gunned down by a deranged political opponent yesterday. I never had the honor of meeting the Honorable late Councilmen in my ole activist days in Brooklyn. I remember living in the tough Bed-Stuy community riddled with too much violence and other social ills. There were always posters of the "Stop the Violence" programs that he was advocating. Ironically, he was victim of what he was trying to stop in his life. One of the great activists of the Brooklyn community has passed but what he stood for will not be defeated. Thank God for his life and his ministry.
