About NBPC
The National Black Programming Consortium (NBPC) is a non-profit national media arts organization committed to the presentation, funding, promotion, distribution and preservation of positive images of African Americans and the African Diaspora. Its primary source of funding is the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
The National Black Programming Consortium has a long-standing history of providing on-going workshops and training to emerging, mid-level and seasoned producers. NBPC's goal is to enhance producer skills while keeping them updated on the latest developments in media and public television. NBPC supports insightful outreach programs targeted for the national PBS schedule and in the spirit of healthy competition presents a bi-annual international film festival called Prized Pieces. NBPC sets the standard for and is one of the leading providers of historically accurate programming about the African American experience on American public television.
Internship Description:
* Write copy and upload information for the NBPC
online newsletter
* Maintain NBPC Web presence & Communication
* Coordinate screenings and events
* Enter & manage collected information into the
NBPC Database.
* Research support for various NBPC projects.
This internship is unpaid but college credit is provided. Interns should be available for approximately 20 hours per week starting no later than Feb 1.
Qualifications:
* Excellent Writing & Editing Skills
* FilemakerPro database Familiarity
* Some Graphic Design Experience i.e. Photoshop,
Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.
* Web Savy
* Excellent computer, analytic and organizational
skills
* Interested in Film & Television Programming,
Distribution,
Marketing & Production
* Versed in African American & African Culture
* Non Profit Experience is helpful
* Must Have Sense of Humor
