Chicago, IL - The sixth annual National Black Public Relations Society Conference is less than a month away and conference planners have issued the following warning: "Don't get left out! Don't miss out!"
The conference, entitled "The Measure of Our Success, Reputation, Research, Resources, Results," is being held at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. The conference begins Thursday, Sept. 30 and runs to Sunday Oct. 3rd.
Public relations practitioners who have worked on some of the largest and most exciting accounts, campaigns and events in pr history will be sharing their experiences of securing a place at the decision-making table, climbing the corporate ladder or finding entrepreneurial success with their own companies.
Other highlights of the conference include a networking luncheon and book signing on Saturday by talented publicist and author Terri Williams of the Terri Williams Agency. Ms. Williams will be signing copies of her best-selling book - The Personal Touch: What You Really Need to Success in Today's Fast-Paced Business World.
Friday's Founder's luncheon, a "not to be missed" Career Development Fair and a panel discussion on the State of Public Relations for the African American Practitioner are other featured conference highlights.

Federal funding for tech firms Federal funding for tech firms Program managers from more than 10 federal agencies will be in the Midwest from Sept. 9 to 16, including in Chicago on Sept. 14, to discuss government programs that offer more than $2 billion to small technology companies and research institutions. The programs, which are called Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer, are intended to fuel American technology growth and development. Business owners, educators, scientists and others will be able to meet one-on-one with program managers to talk about their technology innovations and how they can compete for federal funding.The programs are open to companies with fewer than 500 employees that need money to research and develop products that would benefit the federal government and have commercial potential.
