GLOBAL TRADE & TECHNOLOGY CENTER Grant
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE(New York February 25th) The Global Trade & Technology Center (www.gttc.us) is making the public aware that its Global Trade and Export Studies course offerings are on the Workforce Investment Act Voucher Job Growth List. This reduces an applicants processing time for approval of a $2,500 grant from 18 weeks to 4 weeks. GTTC’s colleges with the course offerings affected are the College of Staten Island, City College of New York, State University of New York Manhattan Educational Opportunity Center, Borough of Manhattan Community College, and Medgar Evers College.
GTTC believes everyone must have an opportunity to participate in the export and import trade industry medium - as an evolving ‘standard’ for commerce and economic opportunity. The development of tools and products for this environment must adopt a philosophy that the initiative itself is a ‘social empowerment tool’; and that no individual in the economy shall be left out of the ‘opportunity’ for improvement as the nation moves into the realm of virtual commerce in the export and import trade industry. In so doing, this initiative breaks open vast new areas for technology development and a requirement, maybe for the first time, that applications be more broadly driven or defined and robust in their adaptability and flexibility than ever before.
To do this requires a ‘nationalistic’ program that embraces tenants of social inclusion while, simultaneously, allowing natural market and technical evolution of standards and applications required for the implementation of this new commercial paradigm. GTTC is seen as a trade and educational association that approaches development of new technologies both from a market driven perspective and with the intent of advocating a broader user base than ever before attempted. Simply stated, it creates an environment for picking up urban, suburban, and rural users through the development of technologies that allow these users both access and applications - thus allowing extended opportunity to everyone.

Faithbased and Community Business Funding
SBA Launches New Faith-Based and Community Initiatives CenterWASHIGNTON – The U.S. Small Business Administration has created a Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives to help non-profit, grassroots organizations learn about and access SBA-backed programs and loans. As part of the initiative, all current technical assistance grant recipients – including SCORE, Women’s Business Centers, and Small Business Development Centers – have extended their programs to faith-based and other non-profit organizations that focus a significant portion of their activities on aiding small businesses.
The Center is part of the SBA’s implementation of the President’s Faith-Based and Community Initiative, which supports the compassionate efforts of faith-based and secular grassroots organizations to improve their communities. The initiative is designed to open government programs to these organizations by ensuring that grassroots leaders can compete on equal footing for federal dollars, receive greater private support and face fewer bureaucratic barriers.
“By working more closely with faith-based and other organizations, we can advance the President’s goal of bringing jobs and hope to economically distressed communities all across our nation,” said SBA Administrator Hector V. Barreto.
SBA field representatives are already developing workshops, training seminars and open houses to reach out and educate faith-based and community organizations about SBA programs and to ensure that these groups have equal access to the services.
