1. Cyber Learning and the Career Student. Fueled
largely by the insatiable desire to constantly generate income and profits
software companies will constantly upgrade software. This is expected.
However, what is not expected is the speed in which software is becoming
obsolete. Major software companies are trying to come out with major
updates every year. Within a couple of years we would have had Windows
98, ME, 2000, and now XP.
It is a maddening pace to keep up with it all. While
both businesses and consumers are beginning to rebel against this trend,
it will be hard to revert the software companies back to a reasonable
two-year upgrade schedule. Therefore, we will all have to constantly
learn new software. Due to our busy schedules, the Internet will be
the university of choice. We will all become career students enrolled
