Is Wireless Finally Ready to Rule E-business? Part 2

to the cyber-ether.
We are focusing on the business aspect of wireless and
therefore will not discuss wireless home networks facilitated by Blue
tooth or 802.11(Wirefi) technologies. We will instead focus on business
applications where wireless holds the most initial promise. From a US
consumer vantage point wireless is already being used to send and retrieve
e-mail, movie information, global positioning, sports scores, travel arrangements,
stock quotes, and paying bills. However, the US wireless Internet still
lags behind Japan and Europe in terms of usage. Many opine that the reasons
for this is that the wireless net is still not ready for prime time and
therefore, US surfers still prefer their computers to experience Internet
content.
There are many legitimate reasons to take this position.
First there is the problem of speed. The term the "world wide wait" given
to the www, of the World Wide Web is born out of the frustration of slow
